INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS AND READERS

 

The Federal State Budgetary Organization “Gagarin Research&Test Cosmonaut Training Center” (FSBO “Gagarin R&T CTC”) has been publishing the scientific journal “Manned Spaceflight”, which covers a wide range of problems related to the theme of manned space missions since 2011. The journal comprises papers on various topics: results of the implementation and ensuring manned space programs; selection, training and post-flight rehabilitation of cosmonauts; ensuring the safety of cosmonauts on orbit; scientific and applied research and experiments in space and on Earth; designing and upgrading space technology and ground-based training facilities; introduction of the results of space activity; educational programs in the sphere of manned space exploration.

The scientific journal “Manned Spaceflight” was registered by the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications. Registration certificate 77-49205, 30.03.2012. The journal was assigned a number – ISSN 2226-7298, EAN-13: 9772226729508.

“Manned Spaceflight” is a quarterly journal. It is distributed by subscription through post offices (subscription index in Catalogue of Russian Press, Russian Post – 78820). The journal is included in the Russian Science Citation Index () http://elibrary.ru/title_about.asp?id=38892.

On December 1, 2015 the journal was included in the “List of peer-reviewed scientific publications, in which basic scientific results of theses for the Candidate’s degree, theses for the Doctor’s degree should be published”, approved by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (The letter 13-6518 from 01.12.2015 about the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications) for the following specialties:

05.13.00 – information science, computer engineering and management;

05.26.00 – human activity safety;

14.03.00 – bio-medical sciences;

13.00.00 – pedagogical sciences;

05.07.00 – aviation and space technology.

Scientists and experts in various fields as well as novice authors are invited to cooperation.

Constructive and benevolent criticism from experts in our journal aims at improving and raising the level of papers of novice researchers, at stimulating the flow of fresh blood for the immensely complex branch of world science and technology.

Information for Authors

 

Authors must send prepared for publication papers and expert opinions on them. We need high-quality printed copy (laser printer) on a good white paper and a copy sent by e-mail. The materials sent for publication must strictly comply with the following requirements. Article volume from 5 to 15 pages must be carefully edited. Papers are expected in the text editor Microsoft Word, version 97-2007.

  1. materials (articles) sent for publication must be original, previously unpublished in other printed sources.
  2. scientific article must have the following required items:
  • formulation of a problem (a question which is answered by the article);
  • analysis of current methodological approaches to solving the given problem;
  • research part;
  • system of evidence and scientific arguments;
  • bibliography.

Articles should be written in language understandable not only to specialists in their field but also to non-specialist readers as well.

  1. The first page of the text must contain the following information:
  • UDC (Universal Decimal classification);
  • article title;
  • name(s), surname(s) of author(s);
  • information about author(s): position, place of employment, academic status, academic degree, home address (including zip code), contact telephone numbers (office, home),

e-mail address.

  • abstract (3-10 lines);
  • keywords on the content of the article (8-10 words), which are placed after the abstract;
  • at the end of the article a list of references must be given in alphabetical order (first literature in Russian then in foreign languages) in accordance with 7.1-2003 « . » (Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description).

Page Setup

In the dialogue box “File-Page Setup”, A4 paper size, portrait orientation is used. Page margins: top and bottom – 4.82 cm, left and right – 4.25 cm. In the text “Automatic hyphenation” must be chosen.

Title

UDC is pointed in the left corner (Times New Roman, font size – 10 points).

Article title is typed in capital letters (Times New Roman, Bold, font size – 11 points), left-justified.

Initials, surname of author(s) must be placed after the article title and aligned with the left margin (Times New Roman, font size – 11 points).

 

Abstract and keywords

Text of abstract and keywords (Times New Roman, font size – 9 points) must be indented by 1.25 cm from the left margin. Keywords are placed after the abstract beginning with the words Keywords (Bolded), the word is spelled with a capital letter; then two-spot; then the list of keywords separated by commas (Times New Roman font, Regular, full justification).

Repeat in English the article title, initials and surname(s) of author(s) (Times New Roman font, Bold, font size – 9 points,). Indentation to the left margin – 1.25 cm, full justification.

Repeat the abstract and keywords in English (Times New Roman font, Regular, font size – 9 points, full justification).

 

Body text

The body text must be in Russian, Times New Roman, font size – 10 points, line spacing – single. The first line of every paragraph must be indented by 0.8 cm. Illustrations must be computer-aided (Word, .bmp, .jpg, .gif files) and editable. Figures are located in the text. Formulas are typed in Microsoft Equation. Tables, diagrams, figures and formulas must be numbered; tables and diagrams must be titled, the titles must always go above the tables or diagrams, each figure must have a caption. Figures, diagrams, and tables must be in black and white when the color does not have any particular importance.

 

Bibliography

References are typed in Times New Roman, line spacing - single, font size - 9 points. References must be given in accordance with 7.1-2003 « . » (Bibliographic description of document. General requirements and rules).

 

An author retains the right to copy his (her) publication. The articles for publication must be given in duplicate. The first copy must contain the author’s signature. The articles must be sent to the address given below or to the member of editorial committee, who is the most competent in the paper topic in the author’s opinion. The material sent for publication will not be returned to authors.

The articles executed without regard to the rules given above will not be accepted for publication.

 

To the Attention of Readers

The editorial board of the magazine shall not bear any responsibility in front of authors and/or third parties and institutions for potential losses caused by an article publication. The editorial board has the right to withdraw a published article if during its publication somebody’s rights or customary scientific ethic norms had been violated. Author of the article, specialists who gave recommendations and organization, where the work was done, shall be informed about the withdrawal.
